low light

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Anubias nana, Microsolium, java moss for starters. If you can keep your ph stable then Cryptocyrne balansea C wendtii and other crypt sp are good low light plants. Fluctuations in ph will result in crypt sp melting!

Also dwarf sagittaria, ozelot sword, green temple, bolbitus, red tiger lotus, baby tears and i know theres a few more but i cant remember what they are.

Make sure you research these plants, some can get huge. (like the swords). Anyway, easy plants I would suggest are anacharis, anubias, java moss, java fern, dwarf lily, rotala indica, wisteria, riccia, crypts, dwarf sag, jungle vals etc

Not sure about the other plants, but I'm sure that Baby Tears are not low light, easy to keep plants as they need strong lighting and CO2.

Actually it is the dwarf baby tears that needs some CO2, only because it is a poor competitor. Regular baby tears can grow fine. If you had a tank of just dwarf baby tears it would grow with no CO2 supplement, same with some of the other carpet plants. They are just poor competitors and can't compete with stem plants. Some plants are aggressive and rob other plants of CO2 and nutrients. So that is why adding ferts and CO2 is necessary.

There are some species of hygrophillia that grow well in low light as well. I have some in my tanks and they make a very nice background/tall plant for a basic "curtain" effect.
