Hi, I have never kept real plants in any of my tanks but I am toying with the idea of adding some kind of low maintenance floating plant. I have come across plant called Amazon Frogbit, what is the minimum requirements for these plants?

Floating plants like frogbit or water lettuce are hard to screw up. Pretty much if your water can support fish, they'll thrive.

I have water lettuce, I don't do anything special for it, and every 2 weeks or so I scoop out a dozen handfuls of it.

I'm not sure about frogbit but hornwort and water sprite do well in all my tanks and they also pull out a lot of nitrate

Look up the pothos thread here. Keeps my levels very low

Just make sure you have at least a trace of nitrate. Your fish should do that.

Perfect, I haven't done a water test in a while but nitrate levels are normally 20 sometimes a little higher
