If any of you guys keep blackwater fish in acidic conditions, how do you measure your Ph? I'm slowly lowering the Ph of my uaru tank and was wondering what the best method of measuring ph below 6 is. I see the litmus paper strips for sale, but would love to know what is used in the hobby. Thanks in advance.

I use a digital ph tester made by Milwaukee, this one I use it for my planted discus tank. Works great, as you could see now my ph is @5.9! I have the probe in the tank 24/7. image.jpg

A probe as stated above is an excellent choice, but there is also litmus paper available that is specially made for the testing of different pH values.
Here are some examples, although numbers may vary depending on what's available in your area.
0-5
4-8
7-10
depending on where your pH hovers, you choose the best for you.
If not available locally, I used to mail order from Fisher-Scientific and found the paper test strips they provided to water quality labs very accurate for any number of parameters.
Many large cities have a Fisher Sci office or other chemical supply company that caters to the various labs and local businesses.
Where I lived there was also a American Science center that provided many of the things I couldn't obviously get in generic stores.
