Follow directions you do not want to raise the ph more than 2 points per day or the fish will go through ph shock and you could lose him.
I got this info on this site last year really works well,without adding chemicals..buy crush coral and buy nylon bag .i put 1 lb in in nylon bag then put it in my aquaclear 110,,rinnse coral in bag before using,it raise my ph from 6.6 to 7.0..good luck
When considering raising pH you also need consider what your tap water(water used for water change) pH is and how often & what percent is your water change.
Also what is the level of your carbonate hardness in the tank and of the tap water?
What you don't want to happen is ya get your tank pH up to say 7.0 and then your doing weekly water changes of 50% with water that has a pH of 6.4 or something along those lines

That's the right way to do it. I have the same prob. my tap water pH is below 6, and I do 75 gal waterchanges. you have to change the crushed coral every once and awhile, but it's better than using a bottle of ph up every water change.
