Got this guy for $20 at my lfs labeled as cherry red dragon flowerhorn. From what I can tell it's a really low quality male with no kok. Maybe 3". What do you guys think? Type? Potential?

Yea just a lower quality zz/rd. not far off from a trimac but still an amazing fish. Just grow him out and see what he turns into. It might suprise you.
$20.00 ?!?! Man some shops are out of their minds with the prices and these names of the flowerhorn. That fish is a ZZ/Trimac, no where near red dragon status unless he was the runt of the hatch. He could suprise you but honestly I would give him a 10% chance of developing even a hard kok. 0.00% of developing a water kok. If you wanted to bring out more of his color get a darker substrate. Not black substrate, but darker.
