Since my new 150 busted on the floor last Friday I am looking for a low water level alarm has anyone here used or have one? A link would be nice. By the way I'm looking for something cheaper than 193.00 like the one Tunze sells.

I have an electronic thermometer that had an alarm when the temp gets low.. When doing a water change, the temp sensor is exposed to air and it would start beeping because it was cooler than the minimum I set.
It's not fool-proof or fancy, and you'd have to have the temp sensor right at the top of the water, but it beeps when not in the water (assuming the air temp's not warmer than the water temp) and is a darn site cheaper than tunze gear!

Just a N.O. float switch hooked in series with whatever you want as a signal (lamp, alarm etc. adjusting type of switch for current loads).

Why a low water alarm? How about a regular water alarm to sense water outside the tank?
