Lower water level overflow question.

Can I remove the teeth on my corner overflows and cut down my stand pipes to lower the water level in my 500g? I think it will work, just want to make sure.

Thanks, has anyone ever tried this? I just couldn't afford to buy I new tank if i end up destroying this one. In my mind it will work (my mind is a scary and dangerous place though) just looking for a little validation

Cant say ive done it before, but it should just be like cutting any acrylic. Get a hack saw with fine teeth, and take it slow.
