Lowering PH?

I searched the forums, but it filters out PH when I search, so it only searches for "Lowering".

Anyways, if anyone has any ideas, I have some AT dats, NTT dats, and soon to be reticulatus ray. The PH is currently 7.8-8.0 and I need ideas in lowering it. Currently filtered by an EMP 400 and AC110 + Powerhead (Not sure if that matters at all).

to lower your ph...add drift wood.

is your ph consistant??? or does it drop like crazy... its usually best to not mess with the ph...

it stays at 7.8-8.0 but I've read its not good for the Dats stability..
Driftwood, I thought about but I need the footprint of the tank for the ray. Anything else? Or should I just leave it ?

just leave it... ive seen plenty of dats in high ph GH water...

I live in north central IL and i've been keeping fish for seven years. the average tap water ph is 8.2 around here, i haven't seen anyone's fish suffer from it. there's been 2 occasions where i had tried to lower ph because i though i "needed to", after reading up on the ph preferences of tropical fish, and i'll just say, I shoulda just LEFT IT ALONE....
