Lowering salinity for Figure 8

I have been keeping a brackish tank (sg 1.011) with a couple of bumble bee gobies and between 3 and 15 mollies (I net them out when it gets crowded based on parameters). This weekend I bought 3 figure 8's from the fish store which just happened to be keeping them in brackish water (sg 1.012 I measured from the bag). The fish are fatties and eating well. Last time I saw F8's in Idaho was 18 years ago.

I read that the little guys would like sg 1.005. I was wondering, how slowly should I shift the specific gravity?

Any time! The rest of your fish should be fine at that SG. I can't believe F8s are so rare out there.
