Lowest tank temperature ?

I have a few pairs of breeding fish.. Fighting cold basement temperatures what's the lowest temp eggs will hatch I have read anything above 72 is fine ???

Agreed some need cold water...some need warm.

Above 72 should be ok...they might be slow to hatch at that lower temp though

Species is really an important factor, I've had beanii spawn at 68'F, and Uruguayan species like Gymnogeophagus and Australoheros, that spawn at temps lower than that (into the low 60sF). Even some of the more tropical spawns are triggered by spring rains, or mountain thaws that can bring temps lower than their normal range.
