Lowest temp for gars?

I was wondering what the lowest temperature a gar an live at? I'm not fussed about what type. i herd spotted gars can be overwintered under ice and was wondering if the was true.
I am wanting to set up an outside tank in the south of england and want to know weather any gars would be able to live outside all year round, winters aren't to bad here and my pond rarely ices over.

I live in Indiana, US and my pond freezes with 12+ inches of ice almost every year and the spotted gar survive. Max depth is about 14 ft. We have longnose, shortnose, and bowfin in local lakes that survive also.

Should be fine. I'd install a pond heater just to be safe though

We get some pretty cold winters here in the Midwest, where spotted, longnose, and shortnose gar are very abundant. They are even restocking Alligator Gar in Central Illinois (In the Sangonois wildlife preserve).
