i think northern snakeheds can live in just about freezing water but i am not 100% sure and dont know about other species of channa

Come on, really? Snakehead now? They are illegal.

I think I can count the species of fish that wont be in your pond on one hand. Just stick with small and largemouth bass and channel cats, that way nothing has to die.

Northern Snakehead can live in waters with temperatures down to -20.
His heartbeat will slow down, and He will go in some sort of hybernation.

Hi flemming,

water cooled down to minus 20 has its own nam, its ice ;-)

Not even C. argus warpachowskii can survive in a solid block of ice ;-)

I was never thinking about buying one but wow, so much for being a tropical fish, I always thought they would only take over the southern states but heard on tv that they would go into canada and was like WHAT? but I am going to florida for vaca so I just might bring one back... My pond has a lip so in no way possible could it get out...
