Hey MFK, while my fiji boat rock is coloring up slowly and is doing its job just fine but it is still kinda barren looking. Could anyone suggest or refer me to a reputable site for getting top shelf deco LR?

premiumaquatics.com

Thier Manado live rock is top notch. Cant go wrong with any of their LR.

Indeed the manado is some great looking stuff, and I like how I can buy in smaller amounts to mix in at any time.

It really is some pretty rock, can I get various sizes/shapes at request? i.e. flat/nano sized? also with all that life what is the die off/curing time like for the fresh out of the water stuff?

i dont know much about farmed rock, but i do know for a fact that the rock that I get at premium aquatics is superior to rock that i see anywhere else and much nicer than I see in many photos of tanks.

Sorry, I missed this question. This stuff is very nice. I have several hundreds of lbs of it in my system. You can definitely put in a request and we will do our best to get you what you need in terms of shape and size. In terms of die off, we can either scrub the rock before sending it to you , or send it with all the macro and tube worms etc. Its been my experience that if you cure the rock outside of your system you will get the best results. What I have done is get a tank / tub/ basin and put the rock in there. Use a powerhead and skimmer and in about 3 weeks, you should be ready to place the rock in your system. I would do a complete water change after the first 3 or 4 days.

This is honestly some of the best FL farmed rock I have ever seen a Picture of.

Then again hard to tell much from a picture, but I think some people on here have purchased from roastbeef...maybe they could give him some rep. :D

We stand behind everything we sell. I can show you plenty more photos if you are interested. When we scrub the rock, it retains the purple coralline, but the loose stuff which will rot quickly comes off.
This is a scrubbed rock.
