Lucius pike

I've never kept them, but they are a Saxatilis pike. You can find a couple pics and some general info on them here: http://pikecichlid.com/luciuspage.html

My Saxatilis pike came to live here when he was about 4 - 5" and he's gotten along great with other large semi-aggressive cichlids like Hoplarchus psittacus, Atabapo sevs, and big Geos. He's also in a large tank which probably helps. I can't say that C. lucius would be the same, but they're probably more mild-mannered than the larger lugubris pikes.

I actually got one from Jeff Raps a little while ago when a friend was putting in an order for a few other things. Overall I really like the Lucius. Before him I had a monster Venezuelan but he got way too big for my 90 so had to get rid of him. The Lucius is better looking but the Venezuelan was more fun to watch. I would definitely suggest one. Only problem is mine is really putting up a fight to not eat pellets which is understandable. He is also not as aggressive as I thought he would be but I have a feeling in a few months that'll change. Ill try to post some pics soon if you want to check him out.

I picked up a Lucius from Rapps and specified I wanted a male - he is eating pellets with no problems and bloodworms of course.
