Question: can I put open cell foam in the overflow to keep fish from swimming into it? Making slots in the overflow is not an option.
Rant:
This fish called Z is so lucky because several months ago he jumped out of the tank and dried up on the floor and lived. Yesterday I decided it was not fair to not keep him in the big tank with my bala's since he lived in the 55 gallon with them.
Today i came home checked all my fish like normal every one was cool, worked on my stove for a while, took a break and decided to watch the fish. I notice he is missing, Right away I knew his Dumb F A swam down the drain, and sure enough there he is in the mech section of the trickle filter. Luckly for him once again I didnt drill the holes big enough so that section is always half full of water.
Up to this I was not upset even though I knew it was going to be a PITA to get him out. What makes me mad is I am trying to save his dumb self and he keeps swiming deeper into the freaking filter.
