For cases that need to be checked, your main case, I see some have caster wheels on four sides for more directional turning, some have just the two wheels but they are much stronger wheels to last. Hard cases and soft cases, weight restrictions now is a big deal as well.

What have you guys used that has made it through the airport poundings and still holds tough?

Thanks guys

Imo you want cheap wheels built into the base...they take up a few cm apposed to inches casters take up. Don't dick around with a million cute little pockets you want the simplest thing you can find...one large area is best.

(you should be storing your toiletries, etc in clear plastic bags anyways)

Load it up with a cinder block and if it doesn't break you'll be alright?

Soft with two wheels always worked for me, not sure if you are traveling with something demanding on the luggage?

I haven't checked bags since i was a kid on family vacations though. Backpack under the seat, duffle bag/small suitcase in the overhead. No stress and free. Unless you are traveling with something you can't carry on, go through what you packed and think if you will really need it.

We have always done well with regular cases that have two wheels on the bottom and a nice pull handle. It's amazing how soo many other bags resembles ours when we are waiting at the claim area...Most if not all airlines charge a fee for luggage now which is a travesty.

2 of the 4 flights I just took had to make a good amount of ppl check things as they were boarding because the flights were full and everyone keeps trying to bring too much cary on stuff. Not sure about your neck of the woods, but its a big thing here now, in short. Thanks for the info though.

Yeah I just payed 25 bucks to check it, and back.

I've always used soft case luggages that have 2 wheels, the only disadvantage is some won't stand up vertically so you will have to lay them horizontally.

Soft cases can be stretched to accommodate more packing if needed. But as mentioned, unless I'm traveling out of the country, I simply use a small duffle bag that can be carried on.

so when you guys pop out of state for several days, you just take a duffel bag?

I guess I like my stuff to stay organized lol. I also have my lap top bag with me so maybe I dont want to carry another bag.
