I just got two 36" nova extreme freshwater T5 HO fixtures. Each one has two tubes, one freshwater 6700k plant bulb, and one 10,000K bulb. I tried to find out what the lumen output of there bulbs were (39W) but couldnt find it on there site or anywhere else. I figure if its 100LPW I am going to need more lighting on my standard 125 gallon... an exact figure would be nice to know. Using the 100LPW I got a value of 113~ using wyld's formula in the sticky, I am going to moderately plant my aquarium. Will this be enough or do I need two more tubes?

While I was looking into ways to light my aquarium I found most T5HO's to have a average output of 75-85 LPW , they are brighter than that as the start of there life then slowly loose output to less than the average.

Other "average" numbers I came across, all of these are in the ~6500k light range type bulbs.
T5 = 80-90 LPW
T5ho = 75-85 LPW
T8 = 65-75 LPW
T12 = 50-60 LPW (most T12's had a pretty low CRI though)
Spiral CFL = 50-55LPW ( I can see why, even though the glass is a thin T3 size, about 35-40% of it faces at each other on the inside of the spiral, if they stretched it out into a long tube its probibly more effecient than T5)

I see good info.. This sucks, I guess I will need more lights.

Looking on Currents site they say between 95-105 LPW for T5-HO's when run with their ballasts.

"A system using SlimPaq high output T5 lamps offers a tremendous amount of lumens-per-watt (LPW). When coupled with a Current T5HO electronic driving system, SlimPaq T5HO lamps can deliver anywhere from 95 LPW up to 105 LPW. By pairing a SlimPaq T5HO lamp with a Current electronic ballast, you can create a lighting solution that will deliver unbeatable performance."

I'll have to check the Hagen packaging later, but I am pretty sure it runs 115 Lumens per watt.

I couldn't find any Lumen output ratings on their website.
