How many lumens would you guys recommend for a 120 gallon freshwater tank? No plants, just want color enhancement on my fish. Tank is 24" high, and lights will be sitting on the glass top. Looked at t5 and t8 displays at Home Depot, and the t5 definitely appears brighter. Thinking maybe 48" x4 t5. Will this be too much?

since youre using for aesthetic, 2x 48" should be enough. i dont even use lights for my 480. ambient light during the say, pitch black when the sun goes down.

I have those bulbs you mentioned and when I went LED its so much brighter will last me a very long time and color was so much better. If you want color enhancing get the colormax bulb I used to have it for my flowerhorns but its kind of those things where without them they look much different and didn't like that. I like their true colors.

Your electricity bill will be lower with these LEDs on the market and these are bright!

Very cheap but effective for the price. I know a number of people who have this.

Look for it with the same seller out in wisconsin if you're looking I paid 27$ shipped for same one.
My tank is 72" but I got the 48" just to see if it would be bright enough. Its perfect if I add one more to it it'll be way too bright for my fish lol
