OK I can add some details now...
This lump is not a food lump, we are 100% certain. I know this for a fact and we took a head count in my aquarium and all my fish are there. Nothing is small enough to swallow anymore. This lump now has me concerned...
Nate eats well still. However, I did not feed my tank on purpose for a few days to see if something did not pass. ......
any ideas?

Anyone raising ornates ever ran into this before? We know we cant be the only one with this issue.

Not all at once now...

One of my Ornates have had this problem...bad news is...she didn't make it:( It was quite odd. I actually took her out of the tank and placed her in a hospital tank. Bumped up the temp and added salt. Thought I would starve her to see if she would pass anything. About 2 weeks went by and one day, it disappeared along with her appetite. She never ate after that and passed away 2 weeks later. No sign of the lump anywhere. As if it was an air pocket trapped insider her. Mine was more severe than your Ornate's.

If it was an air pocket, it would have buoyancy problems. I suspect it has eaten gravel or other stuff in your aquarium and is unable to pass it out of its digestive tract
