Sorry for posting so many threads currently, just having serious issues currently with various tanks and I've only been in the hobby a year :-/.
A few weeks ago, I noticed my goldfish had a large asymmetric lump near its tail fin. Saying "it as unaware if male or female". I put it in the hospital tank at home with a small amount of salt and treated daily with melafix, fed once a week on daphnia. After two weeks the lump had gone down. Moving it back into the main tank, as nitrate was well under control again, and now, a week later the lump is back bigger than ever. It came up over night, the night before the goldfish had been fed a small number of sinking pellets. THe goldfish appears to be acting normally, but this lump is worrying. Tank parameters are currently 0,0,10 pH 7.8, temperature 20. Tank size is 100l, tank-mates are 2 weather loaches, 2 peppered cories, 3 leopard cories, 5 danios and 5 wcmms. Had the goldfish for over a year with no issues until recently. Thinking of trying a new food and possibly some peas in case its indigestion. The LFS seemed to think it was the start of dropsy when the lump first appeared, however, with the lump going down and coming back up within a week of being back in the main tank, I'm not so sure. Please help :( I have no idea what to try now, I've tried everything I can think of

Is it possibile to post a good picture.

It looks impacted. Try doing an epsom salt bath. 1 tsp per gallon for about 20 mins. Disolve the epsom salt in a cup of tank water add to the container mix and put the fish in. Keep an eye on the fish while it's in the bath. After 20 mins remove and place in hospital tank, for the next 3 day feed only crushed skinned peas. HTH

What do you feed the fish normally?

I usually feed tetra goldfish "gold Japan"uploadfromtaptalk1369505661559.jpg
Is a sinking pellet to avoid swim bladder issues. I will give an Epsom salt bath then take him back to my (thankfully still running) hospital tank
