Lumps on Fire Eel

Noticed lumps on my fire eel 3 days ago.. the lumps were inside the skin rather than outside
About total 6-8 lumps around his body


He stopped eating for that 3 days and passed away this morning

No issues with my other fishes and did a 80% water change yesterday as per normal , which is every 5 days

Anyone know cause?

How old is he? How many gallons? And my suggestion is to do 50% water change for a week.

he passed away already. From the time he stop eating till he passed away was 3 days

i am not really sure how old he is.. when i got him, he was about 1ft or so.... had him for maybe around 6 months... the tank is 6ft x 2ft x 2.5ft

the night before he died, i did a 70-80% water change as per my regular schedule. WC every 5 days

when i bought the fella told me it was 1ft, i did not really measure but i guess i could be between 1ft to 1.5ft max.... but 2ft at death is certain because i measured

i got this tank on 1st Jan 2017, so yeah i guess it should be between 6-9 months i got the eel... i got it together with my albino clown knife
