are lunchmeats good for carnivorus cichlids like reddevils.I fed mine some and she seems to like it.By lunch meat i mean like turkey.Would my buttikoferi like it

The odd bit of turkey wouldnt hurt now and again but avoid processed meats.

I guess in moderation as a 'treat' it might be OK but be careful, some 'lunchmeats' contain other fats & fillers that could be harmful because the fish will be unable to properly digest them. Oh they'll eat it alright but because they don't normally encounter these'meats' in nature it could cause problems. Good LuckI KNOW OSCARS LOVE LUNCH MEAT MY BROTHER FEED IT TO HIS AT LEAST ONCE A WEEK . i told him not to do this all the time though , but once and awhile should not hurt ,
Stay away from any processed meats. They're loaded with nitrates (preservatives) and will totally FUBAR you biofilters. Your fish may enjoy the odd hotdog, bologna, or ham slice but, it's truely bad for the overall health of the system. If you feel you must feed terrestrial animal meats to your fish, offer fresh meats/organs. If your intention is to eventually breed your fish, steer clear of steer meat and any other livestock meat since the hormones normally administered to livestock can affect fish spawning behaviors.
MOST CICHLIDS WILL EAT THE LUNCH MEAT AND BE O.K. BUT IT WILL CLOUD THE WATER AND DO ALL THAT OTHER BAD STUFF ODDBALL SAID SO I WOULD FEED THEM LUNCH MEAT VERY RARLY LIKE WHEN YOU ARE BROKE AND CANT GET FEEDERS THAT WEEK LOL.
They will also eat eraser tips and cigarette butts. That doesn't mean it's good for them. Too many excellent food sources out ther than to worry about wether or not your cichlids have enough capicolla.
