lungfish and bichirs

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Definitely NOT recommended. The only LFs I've been able to keep in a comm setup have been the SAm LF (Lepidosiren paradoxus) and the aussie LF (AUL) (Neoceratodus fosteri). None of my african LFs have ever tolerated other species as anything other then menu items.

ive done it with my WAL.
however,i wouldnt reccomend it.
i had a very non aggressive WAL.
no lungifsh will live in a 55 for a year.

You might be able to keep a Protopterus amphibius LF in a 55 for life provided the tank has top-of-the-line filtration on it. However, finding a P. amphibius can be a daunting task. They don't ship well, are difficult (at best) to keep healthy, and can cost as much as a new ]V[onster aquarium setup.

A 55 will house most LFs for their 1st year of life. However, they'll all require tanks double the size of a 55 (and up) in quicker time than one might think.

by 120 you mean 4 by 2 by 2?
if so,a WAL can live in there for life.
but it' be pretty cramped.
a bigger tank would be better.
but it'd last you pretty long.
