i have a new lungfish and I have it in quarantine are there any medications I should stay away from? I was planning on treating for parasites, worms.

I would caution using copper products or harsher treatments, like with many scaleless/sensitive fish. Methylene blue baths are something they tolerate well and clear up fungus and bacterial infections if you encounter those in the future.

Praziquantel treatments are tolerated without problem (internal parasites). Also Diflubenzurone (dimilin for external parasites- anchor worms or fish lice) are on the safe list. You can use praziquantel to be on the safe side if you feel the need during quarantine. You'll see visual evidence if Diflubenzurone or MB bath is needed.

What kind of lungfish is it? Share some pictures with us pretty please?

Dieselhybrid Dieselhybrid , how about Tetra Parasite Guard and Seachem Kanaplex?

Ingredients of Tetra Parasite Guard: Praziquantel, Diflubenzuron, Metronidazole and Acriflavin

I have used tetra parasite guard. The only reason I dont use it much anymore is that I keep stingrays now. I found a study, or author, who spoke about it causing fertility issues. I can't confirm it happen from a couple small treatments but that was enough for me to buy the ingredients separately and omit the acriflavin.

That is a great product. That was my only concern with it. Acriflavin is very similar to methylene blue with what it treats and safety, it just doesn't offer the positive oxygenation saturation to the fish being treated. My bottle of acriflavin says it doesn't kill the bio filter like MB does, not sure if I believe that.

Be careful with combining multiple meds, they can have bad interactions.
great info here on baths and meds http://www.aquarium-pond-answers.com/2009/07/fish-baths.html

I've never used Seachem Kanaplex. But I have friends who use kanamycin. Isn't supposed to impact the filter but I think I remember it can react with other meds so I would use it alone, unless already bundled with another ingredient at manufacture. Not sure about compatability with lungfish.
