I'm thinking about getting a lungfish and maybe another tank mate for it. Just wondering what type of LF I should get and what the best tank mate for it would be.

Thanks :D

at my lfs the have spotted gars with lungfish. they seem like they dont even bother one another.

South Americans and Aussies are okay with peaceful tankmates. The African species get more and more violent until they are the only thing left in the tank...

What kind of lung ? Both a bichir and a knife would be at the bottom with him you might have better luck with more top dwelling fish. But with an African anything can happen.EDIT (OH god don't quote me on that)

1st of all what size fish tank do you have before you plan getting it :)

Right now, i have a 38 gallon, but I want to move up to at least a 125 gallon around Christmas. And after that, ill probably go bigger.

alright, if you get around 250, a gar could work...

I have 2 S. American lungfish about 4'' living with a thin bar datnoid, a ornate bichir, a bala shark, tilpia zilli, and some frontosas with out any problems.
Tank size is 150. As long as the lungfish is not ediable size he should be fine. I have had great experiences with tankmates with S. American lungs and Aussie lungs but no so great with Africans.
