It depends on how much you feed it. I feed mine a few times a day just to keep it calm. I got mine in february at 9-10'' and he is currently at the 19-20'' mark.
It also depends on the type of food and the conditions underwitch your fish is kept waterquality space, stress. I don't own a annectens but my dolloi went from 45 cm to 85 within1 year.
