Is $50 a good deal on a 1 foot Lungfish?

What species? Any pictures?

The prices vary based on the species, but it's not really a terrible price on any lungfish species but not a steal on some species (more like average).

I paid 60 for my baby marbled lungfish a few months ago.

i bought a 2' afrcan off craigslist for $25 and he is gorgeous. but that was more of a rehoming fee, cz I got a 14" clown knife for the same price from the same person

Ahh my favorite fish...When available in DC area LFS, SAs (most commonly available) go for $20 for 3" babies to $80 for 12" young adults. I've had them grow from this size to 3 ft in 1.5 years eating mostly chicken livers.African Marbled go for $50 - $80 but are rarely available at LFS. When they are the are usually about 10-12". I buy either almost automatically if 12" & $50 bucks. The SA's take beg & take liver from my hand like puppies. When they get big (2 ft) I advise keeping by themselves. I found out the hard way.. One even swallowed a 14" very wide Sleeper Toby right in front of me after living peacefully with it for 2 years.
