Hello Everyone, top of the morning to you all.
Well my lungfish is finally getting used to it's new home, moving gravel around along with all of my bogwood and rocks. I tried diff. foods and some luck with goldfish,as he slaughtered one,ate one,one died and one still terrified.
I did a partial water change hoping that would help his appitite, but no apparent change. But he didn't get to be 28" by not eating,so i'm not worried to much.
As for my 120 tall he has no trouble reaching the top for air,and has plenty of swimming space. He just needs plenty of water changes, and i change 40 to 50% every 4 days.
I keep his lighting low as i am using the lights that came with the tank at time of purchase, and a low wattage moon glow nightlight at night, this is when he really shows how powerfull he really is. I watched and heard him suck a mouthfull of gravel into his large mouth and i had to go get a flashlight to check and see if the tank was leaking or not,i thought he was going to break the tank!. Now i understand what you guys were saying about not getting bitten!
Filtration from my 2 fluval 404's don't seem to be a problem as he is swimming quite well, probably due to water volume. I moved the heaters from in the corners to the center of the tank as he favors the corners to gulp air,and positioned them to form an inverted "v" so he could roam without hitting them(the heater covers did not work as well as i wanted them to)
Thats about all for now, talk to ya later.
