What's lurking in your tank??

I was doing my deep cleans today and realised there was a lot more going on in my tanks than I remember. a few examples

I moved my jags from there current home to a larger tank, when I tore down the old to set up for my Jack dempsey to go in I found a couple of young bristle nose, which I must have added at some point as there is no pairs in there and some very large snails and a female kribensis I have owned for 3 years that was put in there about a year ago cause it was bulling a EBJD, I thought it would have been long gone as the male jag is over 10" ...

In my 180g dovii pair tank I also found a 1" bristle nose, a female convict ( one I breed and put in to cycle the tank last year) a third dovii that was part of the of original group i put in to get my pair but hadn't seen it for over 6 month as it was a lot smaller than the rest. there is also a number of grown on fry kicking around so much for breeding dovii clearing tanks out...

I went to add a pair of cockatoo cichlids to a spare tank that I had a pair of cherry barbs in for a couple of nights, and on closer inspection I had fry all over the place...

I'm still working through my tanks but i'm sure i'll find more hidden secrets in them.

what have you found that you figured was long gone or forgot you had??

Last time after I sold my Jag pair in my 125 heavy planted tank, I did a major re-arrange my driftwood and plants I found out that my 6 inches royal pleco still alive, I didn't see it for good over 6 months. Last week, I clean out the Jag fry tank that I still have some water in it and I saw 1 inch baby jag left in there LOL I was like how the heck you survived in there for months without food or filtration. I took it out and put it in my outdoor planted tank :)

found my cuban that been missing since i put my jags in the same tank 6" and disappeared just turned up slightly worse for wear but should be fine now he is in a smaller tank for now

This has never happened to me. If a fish goes missing, I tear the tank apart.
And I've never surprise fish pop up either.

Only unexpected guests I've had are some pin sizes inverts and an assassin snail. Both in my planted tank but that makes sense.

I inspect the hell out of my tanks daily.
