Yes most of them that share your characteristics now are Asian bred. Yours to me are one of the better looking ones I’ve seen so far at a bigger size.

They were a couple geeky looking skinny fish when I got them.
I will do a picture thing of how they have progressed after it’s been a year.
Theo has lost a lot of markings towards top and Luther a little.
Luther is also further along with the spangles.
Some guys turn their nose up at CB Cichla but personally I think that they look much better then their wild counterparts. They have been selectively breed to have those amazing markings, your fish look fantastic.

I wish I had room for bigger tanks. I see you guys with big tanks and all these different king of bass and I drool.
But I am glad I gave it a try. These fish are way underrated.
They just get so big!
