I have 8 Amphilophus Lyonsi I bought from Rapps a few months ago, the problem I'm having is they will not eat anything other than crushed Massivore.

I can trick them sometimes if I add something with it, I have no problem feeding them Massivore solely. I just want to make sure it's an okay diet, I can transition them to something else slowly if need be. I sneak NLS cichlid formula 1mm pellets in sometime they do notice if there's too many and they'll spit it out.

I've had a hard time getting mine to touch pellets to. For the time being I have them on cobalt cichlid flakes but I do wanna try other stuff...

How big are they? If they're big enough you could probably starve them out for a few days.

I have some Amphilophus Citrinellus, that I feed O.S.I Spirulina pellets & Freeze dried Krill as a staple, as well as chopped up salt water clams & earth worms, hope this helps, gl

I started mine on nls discus formula that I had laying around when I received mine from coa. I have feed them 1mm pellets from nls once they hit about 2 inches. Went up a size with the nls and started to add some sinking bio gold from hikari. Now they are on the medium sized bio gold pellet. I have had them now for 18 months. Just had the first spawn.

When you say saltwater clams are you opening fresh clams and chopping them or using canned clams? Just curious because I may want to try it on my finnicky wild GT also from Jeff that seems content to only eat night crawlers and crickets. I made some DIY gel food shaped like worms (seem my DIY thread here if interested http://www.monsterfishkeepers.com/forums/threads/diy-make-your-own-worms.667696/).

After a few times eating those worms he wont any more. Just spits them out immediately or swims around with them inside his mouth and spits them out ten mins later. I'm at my wits end trying to get this fish to eat something.

Sorry for the late reply. They're about 2 inches largest probably 2 1/2. They have began eating crushed Hikari Bio Gold mixed with Massivore, and don't seem to mind.
