I was surprised to see these two spawn so soon. I came home to perform a water change and found them guarding a bunch of eggs. Funny thing is minutes after I recorded this video all the eggs were eaten by tankmates. The parents turned on each other and fought. While those two were attacking each other the other fish devoured the eggs. I guess next time I'll salvage the eggs and raise them in another tank. Oh well, enjoy!

Lol that sucks but still awesome that they spawned. Would love to get a hold of some one day.
Thanks! Maybe I'll be able to help you out with some fry one day.

They look awesome! Better luck next time. What are they in with?
Thank you! Hopefully they won't turn on each other again. I've had this pair for about three weeks. They are with Clown Loaches, two small Cutteri, and a school of Serpae Tetras.

Beautiful pair! How big are they?
I appreciate the compliment! The male is 6.5" and the female is 5.5". They are a very bold pair that enjoy being out in the open. Feeding time, they come to the surface with everyone else. They don't bother their tankmates either. They might want to be a little tougher on their tankmates when breeding the next time though;).

Great looking Pair bro. too bad they turned on each other but at least they spawned for you. They will spawn again for you too. good luck.

Love the Lyonsi, great looking pair Al. Better luck on the next go around.

thats a serious pair of lyonsi. good luck next time

Thanks, guys for checking out my thread and for the kind remarks. The pair are friendly again and are cleaning the same rock that they spawned on yesterday. I don't know what's going on with them. But they seem to be preparing the site for another try. I seriously doubt I will see any eggs any time soon though. I did manage to save five eggs. They are in a bare bottom ten gallon. I don't know if it was even worth saving such a small amount of eggs but I have them just the same. I hope they do better next time. I have a few friends wanting fry. I'll keep you guys posted.
