Lyonsi with hemorrhoid??

Hi! I came home and noticed my 3 inch lyonsi had a red hangy thing coming out. It doesn't look normal. Looks like a hemorrhoid or rectal prolapse or something. Is there anything to do about it? Will the fish be ok? Thanks

I sure think that is a prolapse . . . and it looks god-awful!

thanks for the concern guys! i went back to take a look at him and he's completely normal again!! it seems it went back in on its own... but will it come back out? i have noticed that he usually has stringy white poop. i don't think i've ever seen him have normal poop... but i'll be keeping a closer eye now! is it a birth defect or something or will this go away on its own?

That was a prolapse but good to hear it's back where it is.lol Treat the fish with praziquantel if it poops white stringy poo all the time. That's not normal.
