Macgyver Made Sump

Tonight I got really bored so I made a sump out of:
One of those metal basting pans
Some tubing I had
Powerhead
A tube of Caulk
Pieces of sponge (As media)
And thats all...

It will be on my empty 10 gal tank. If it works Ill post some pictures.

Caulking? Metal pan?

Do sponges have anti-bacterial elements?

Taste the water coming out of it so you don't endanger any fish...

I dont think im going to put fish in it because they might die. Just did it to kill some time.

Let's see you idea anyway, it could have merit. Besides, it kept you busy and thinking...that always counts for something .
