Mackerel as fish food....

hey all... just wondering would it be ok if mackerel is given as occasional treats for my aros and RTC?
 
Nooooo! Mackerel is one of the oiliest fish. They make good chum because they literally make an oil slick. Your water would be gross afterwards...

i saw arapaimag feed one of his channel cats i think in one of his pics... thought that was as mackerel... so was wondering... mebbe i was wrong... anywayz thanks for the replpy... will do some research for sho on this....
 
Yea I use mackrel as chum I mean about ten pounds is enough to make almost a mile long sheen on a flat day use a frozen silver sides there cheap and don't make a mess
