I like how the subject is positioned in the shot but there is too much shadow for my liking. I get the effect you are going for with 90% of the image out of focus, but I don't quite get HIT by the image like I would like.
I think maybe a tighter crop with possibly an insect on the stick would really give the image more appeal.

Agree with what's been said. The oof plant in the bkgd is distracting to me but that may not be anything to someone else. Your lens has very good bokeh. Now that you have some examples of what your new lens can do, keep the background in mind when you shoot, not only what you see through the lens but also in your 'minds eye' knowing that you can get creamy results with such good glass.
