well i got a airpod 6 air pump 3 months ago for my 55 gallon tank. the air pump is up for a 100 gallons of water and i am running a 80 gallon sponge filter and a 24 in bubble wond. i had one line that ran to a 4 gang valve that ran one line to my bubble won and a second line to my sponge filter. the other line that came out of the pump went to the sponge filter so i used a tee to make two lines go into one. well tonite i wanted to see if i could get more air into my sponge filter. i tryed differnet ways and i did not get anymore air into my filter at all. so i put everything back to where it was before and i lost alot of air pressure. so then i just ran a single line to the sponge filter and bubble wond and i still have no pressure.
so whats a good kind of air pump to get. i want something that is long lasting and will not break in 3 months. please help guys. just to let u know i have a 40 gallon whisper air pump in my 29 gallon tank running a 40 gallon sponge filter and its at least 8 months old and it works great
Please HELP

So is the pump not working? Or is it the gang valve? I had a gang valve that went bad on me within the firt few minutes of using it.

I have a Coralife SL-65 linear air pump that works great. I am currently running quite a few tanks off of it. It is a little loud though. Definitely works better for a fish room.

I used a hiblow airpump for a while on my 320. It may be overkill but it put out lots of air and was fairly quiet. I stopped using it to try to cut down on the number of amps I was drawing (too many tanks, not enough lines).

I like whisper air pumps.

the only problem is with that coralife pump what am i going to do with the other 2 lines that comes out of the valve. and wouldnt that pump be a over kill for my 55 gallon tank

I have a 75 Gallon with a FX5. In addition I'm using a Whisper 60 pumping through a buried 6 inch airstone. The bubbles (and the tank) look really cool when using a couple strings of Current Lunar Blue moon lights which alternate with my daytime florescent lights. The Whisper Air Pump has more than enough pressure for my needs.

Problem - I am finding an abundance of algae on the cover glass above where the bubbles escape. Too bad there doesn't seem to be any solution to this minor dilemma.
