So I bought and applied MARINE melafix and MARINE stress coat in my fresh water tank. Will this be harmful to my fish? It has been almost 24 hrs and nothing bad yet.

I think you will be fine, I accidentally used freshwater melafix in my salt tank a couple of years ago. I think the main difference with the marine formula is something is added to prevent excessive foaming in the water, which is exactly what the freshwater formula did in my salt tank, I had foam everywhere.

No worries, but if you are trying to treat for something, you may need to go buy the fresh water version.

you know I had alot of foaming in my tank , I used freshwater melafix in my fresh water tank according to the directions and I also shook the bottle to make sure it was all mixed also and it als tinted my water turned it a weak "tea" color .... it was really clear before .

I think that your fish will be fine after it has been this long I think if anything was to happen it would have by now

So can I use the marine for the same purposes or should I go get freshwater melafix and stress coat?

best to get freshwater :)

Marine Stress Coat was simply developed to be non-foaming for use with protein skimmers, so it won't do any harm, and I would just use it up. Marine Melafix IS slightly different from the freshwater Melafix (not sure if I'm allowed to say how!) but it shouldn't do any harm. I would get the freshwater version from now on, though.
