I made a new light fixture using an emptied out old one that you buy at petco and stuff and I just put some off that LED rolls of lights in there. Right now there's blue and white but I'm only using the white since the blue was for night time when I had my big bullhead and it helped the bluegill avoid him. Whenever I would go to take pictures of my fish I would try at night since there was no glare from the window in the room but the fish would always go to the dark half of the tank. So no there's no dark half of the tank unless I turn on of the lights off. 
Thats most of the fish in there just missing one pseed in the top picture. I'll take a full tank shot with the new light tomorrow since I already shut the lights down for the night
