In the water
It took forever but I did it.
I am going to stock my 55 with
x1 EBJD
x1 dwarf pike cichlid
x1 birchir
x1 datnoid
this should be good right. I know the dats going to get to big but that's should take a really long time. Could I put a few pictus cats or a blue acara in there.

no he will get pick on. If he bigger then everyone else he will be fine.

You should have them in a larger tank. I understand he's only 2 inches (along with a few other fish), but that can slow his rate of growth (unless your doing DAILY water changes). I'm sure you still feeding them as if they were in a 50-60 gallon tank.

There's a lot of variables that need to be considered.

They're fine in the 12 gallon, but for a very, very short peroid of time. Pretty much they still need to be fed at the same rate, and thus more bio load. Unclean water can ruin a fish's health, so unless you're doing water changes at least once a day, and even that might not be enough.

When are you getting the 55? Advice would be to get it and cycle it asap, then put the fish in it when you know they're safe in there. Really, even though they're 2" they're still producing just as much waste and such as they would in a 55. It's not that there's too many in the 12 gallon, it's that how clean your water is depends on species of fish, amount being fed, water changes, etc. They'll only be ok in there for so long.
