Anyone use magnetic glass cleaners on their large tanks and how do you like them? I would need one for 3/4 glass.

I have used Mag-Floats on my old 150 gal, and it works OK as long as the algae isn't too heavy. Since all glass has microscopic cracks and crevices, it doesn't get the stuff lodged deep within. A razor blade works better.
I also like to keep a piece of cloth under it on the outside, to help remove dust and film on the outer glass at the same time.

It's a must for me as it's more convenient than moving my glass covers and using clean stick. The Flipper, with stainless blade. A bit pricey but worth it IMO.

BTW, this is for my 260. Flipper has models for 3/4" glass too.

I dislike razor blades. It's too east to scratch the glass, and I do a lot of filming, so scratches are ano no. A big brush on a broom handle works well. The key is too clean once per week so the mess doesn't get out of hand.

never used one, use a algae scrubber on a stick, no way I could get behind the larger tanks to scrub them with it it, I have large tanks in windows with no background. algae scrubbing a once week thing along with vacuuming, water changing and bla bla bla.

I find a large common pleco does a great job also, just can not have one in the jag tanks, but great in the 180 Oscar tank, I never clean the glass inside, no need.

I wipe down the glass once a week so it doesn't build up much. The big tank is tough though as I can barely reach the bottom. That's why I was thinking maybe try the magnetic

I used Mag Float on my tank daily especially on the front glass...even it's absolutely clear/clean.
I'm try not to put my hand in my tank to avoid "accident" painful bite from my fish.

I'm starting to worry about that too

Yup, depends on the situation. I have a peninsula style in a room with a lot of natural light. I want something that I can do quick touch-up as needed. BTW, the flipper had both clean pad and flips in the tank for tougher algae. You can clean almost every day doesn't mean the felt can take it all out.
