I am using 2 magnum 350 canister to help with filtration on my 300gal. I use the white filter and as of late one filter seems to be spinnig but the water does not flow into out of the cannister. IT start to circulate then stop ans start making a swishing sound. anyone seen this before and have a solution?

Yes you have to prime it first.

Yeah iv had this problem before to. I was also using 2 magnum filters on an acrylic 300 gal wich turned out not to be enough filteration for the tank. I found that one of the filters had a bad o ring on the top. You might also check to make sure that all your hose connections are tight.

If you are using the white micron filter. Than the filter is dirty and needs to be clean or replace. The white micron filter is mostly used for polishing the water. If you are going to use it for your main filter. You will need to use the blue filter floss sleeve and not the micron filter. Micron filter clogs to fast when using as the main filter.

If you want to find out if you white filter is clog. Just remove it and run it to see if the water is flowing.

yes I sue the white filter, but its clean. I usually soak in a cap full of bleach until the other get dirty, i have 4 that I swap out once a week. could the magnet cause this by some chance.. also does the charcoal and sleeve work better for getting the tank cleanest. I thoought the black charcoal was used to polish and hokd smell down once the water was clean

How do you prime? never had to do this in the past, I'd just fill water up to line, make sure fish tank had enough water and turn on..

The hoses have to be full of water to. I usually stick a water hose on the hose that goes to the filter and turn it on. Then i turn on the filter an let it run for several seconds and that usually does the trick

Actually the carbon breakes down the amonia but yes it does help clear the water to.
No it does not do anything with ammonia. You got some bum info there.
Yes, it can help clear the water and reduce any odors.
I run a pair of HOT 250, with one running the micron cartridge/sponge sleeve and the other just empty cage with sponge sleeve.
On an overstocked 55 I get a little over a week on the micron filter before swapping it for a cleaned one.
The empty cage/sponge just traps the big stuff and gets a cleaning every other week.
Keeps the water crispy and isn`t a major hassle to service the filters.
