I was wondering if this would be enough filtration in a 180 w/CA fish in the 6" range right now. Tring to get by cheap for now an upgrade at a later date. Any help would be great

I ran both of those AND a penguin 350 on my 75.. Mine was a bit overkill but I think your gonna be under filtered still. You may be able to get away with it if you do very frequent water changes. Never had a tank that large though, so I'm not really sure.

I have 2 400's on my 125 gal and have not been real happy. If my arowana was the only fish in there I might be fine but I'm looking for something better.
But it's only my opinion.

i would do 2 400's and the magnum. you should be good as long as you stock right. no lungfish or rtc, lol. i like marineland equipment.

900 gaLLONS AN HOUR SEEMS OK TO ME. they both do mechanicle pretty good and bio-wheels have worked great for me.

You should be fine and since you are trying to get by cheaply if you need more flow and filtration get a power head with a sponge on it to move things around and filter.

I have well over twice that amount of filtration on my densely decorated, moderately stocked 125 gal… I’m quite happy with the filtration of this system although I do not feel comfortable removing any of the filters…

I like the Aqua Clear HOBs better than the EMP… I hear they are on sale (there is a thread on this forum about it).

I like the Magnums a lot (I have 3 350s and 3 250s) even though they have a smaller media chamber than the competition. They make great water polishers using the micron cartridge with the blue sock over it (which makes it easier to clean and reuse).

Like everything in the world, it depends. How many 6" fish? One would be great, four might be all right, 30 wouldn't work, see my point? You need to look at the results you want to reach before asking if your filtration is sufficient.
