magnum 350 making noises... advice

so i took out the impeller and the magnet has some groves in it? would it cause it to do all the clankin noises? or would it be something else... i dont think its the motor housing because i switch the housings around with my other and it dont do it

just trying to double check it bc the magnet alone for the impeller setup is 20bucks

Mine did the same thing, but I also noticed the magent/impeller housing was pretty scored too. I am afraid to use it any longer in case the housing wore through. I loved that filter...but, I had to replace it.

pretty sure u can buy just the housing for like 30 bucks

Yep, about $30. As you said, the impeller is $20. A new seal kit is $5-$10. I thought about rebuilding it for $60, but I needed a filter so I bought a new one instead. I kept the 350 though and plan on rebuilding it in time

Mine has tons of scoring but still works. I found that it will chatter if there's too much air in the filter, if there's debris in the hole for the axle, or it's not seated properly. But your impeller could be damaged as I had a powerhead impeller of similar design break.
