i got some new mahseer about 2 weeks ago and the biggest one (12in. humpback) doesnt want to eat ive tried krill, sinking hikari cichlid, sinking hikari carnivore, and massivore tabs he just doesnt seem interested in food. any ideas? how long can this go on?

hard to imagine them not eating, must be from some kind of shipping stress, maybe ammonia burn., 99% times they'll heal on their own. most of the indian masheers are higher oxygen requiring than the thailand varieties though. where did you get it from? picture?

try worms chopped up

whats the temp? cool end very well oxygenated water is required . what size are your fish?

waters about 78 and tank is pretty well aerated , ill try chopping up nightcrawlers tonight and i got him from a fellow mfk member who got it from you a while back wes btw bring in more!! heres some pics hes knocked a couple scales off since i put him in the smaller tank with other mahseers im hoping theyll get him to eat

that's a cool and weired looking one. can you trace it back to when they got it from me? so i know when it was imported? it doesn't look like anything that I have right now, does it have a horizontal bar across the body?

this particular one you have seems pretty big and the hump is real noticeable., whereas mine, i have some near 16" and not as high...

im thinking he suffered some stress & ammonia burn when i had him in my 150 gl because he was chalky white when i checked on him one day then i moved him to the smaller tank with other mahseer he still hasnt eaten im about to pull my damn hair out from worry

i couldnt edit top post
im thinking he suffered some stress & ammonia burn when i intoduced him to the 150 gl cause he turned chalky white after about 2 days but all the other fish were fine. was that community to aggro for him (oscars, cichla, bichirs) . thats when i put him in the smaller tank with other mahseers and the 2 cichla and dat it seems to be doing better but still no interest in foods

this is a pic 2 days after introduction to the 150gl when i first got him. hes healed up now but still not eating
