even with a published policy statement they have to give you the option to read it and it has to clearly state that terms and conditions apply.
from what has been said there is no policy statement or further terms and conditions.
the goods also have to be clearly marked as factory seconds or reduced to clear due to damage and they have to state what damage.
my statement is, however, based on uk consumer protection but i think in most of the western world consumers have the same basic rights.
it is always worthwhile checking out your own trading standards body to see where you actually stand as no one except a trained lawyer/government advisor can give you concrete advice.
