So I went to unplug one of my filters in order to do a water change the cord came away from the plug! I have never had or heard of such a thing happening before.Does anyone know how I might be able to repair it or should I just purchase a new filter? The filter is a HOT Magnum by the way.

Not sure how insurance works in your neighbourhood but be careful because if something goes wrong and the plug wasn't installed by a qualified/licensed electrician then the insurance companies most likely won't pay.
Saying that, any fool should be able to wire the plug with no issues but something to keep in mind.

Thanks for the information guys.I don't pull the cord itself in order to unplug the unit but I did notice that the cord had been bent at an angle right at the point where it separated.Being bent for some time could have contributed to the break down.

Uhhh...Buy a new plug, strip the wire from the cord, insert into new plug. Not sure about there, but here they're like...$5. Nothing.

I'd give you my heaters if you were closer. Air temp at the moment here is 43 degrees C (109 in your language). Water temp in my 8 footer is 33 degrees (91 Fahrenheit). Been like this for 4 days now. Me and the fish are sick of it.
