I lost 6 of my 7 African cichlids this morning. They died over night from suffocation. All were fully grown and healthy. I'm currently in the process of moving fish around and cleaning. My ammonia levels shot up once all these fish died. I'm going to give the last cichlid to a lfs most likely. Here's some pics of the damage.

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO! Stinks dude. Nice eel though!

sorry for your losses

what caused them to suffocate?

Theres no air stone in the tank, and apparently the water level got low so my wet/dry filter started sucking air for several days while I was out of town, so the water became stagnate. I filled it up yesterday and tested my water and everything was perfect, but I guess not enough oxygen got back into the water fast enough, or maybe it put them into shock. I have no clue honestly.
