Hay all i know males get a little bittie in matting but hes already mated her 3 to 4 times over 2 week ago now my problem is he as no intension of matting again all he wants to do his bite chucks out of her disc and i mean he grabs her and pulls her across tank pritty nasty to watch . Any tips in cooling him down . will he stop its driving me insane watchin him do this to her

OMG! I have heard of males that will do this in the wild, and they usually kill the female over time. I think the best thing to do is to seperate them.

in the wild the female can just swim away.... i would say put a divider in or get another female for your pesky male

Separate him. Sometimes the males need a time-out. I hear dunce caps and spankings might work, too.

adding another ray won't stop this, my male did the same after their 2nd litter, I sepperated him and put him with another male his size and one even much larger than him and he bit the heck out of the 2 males too then about a month later he just stopped.
No documentation to back this up and going on my own observation and opinion, I think the male is excited about "getting some" and if the female is already prego or not at full health to concieve again she was refusing and he was determind and when he was with the large males he still would bite them and once he came to the realization he wasn't going to "get some" he calmed down.
Did you notice if he is eating less & more focused on trying to breed?

---As above, best suggestion is to sepperate them or a strong divider (aquamojo I believe sells dividers strong enough for rays---you can usually find him in the cichlid or photo forums)

most likely started picking on the males because he was trying to keep them away, males get very teritorial when they want to breed. my 8" male motoro would constantly pick on my 18" male leo, until the leo found out he was bigger. Another mature female might give your current female a break since there would be two of them for the male to chase rather then just one.

Thanks all i will sort out a divide he eats same and i have seeen him breed her 3 times 2 weeks ago he as no in tention on breeding her now just bitting her as much as he can i will sort a divide out.
yes turkeyboy that was my plan to get anouther female but as i cant sell the last pups i have i dont wanna be indated with ray pups

I lost my male Leo this year after he harrased the female so much she stabbed him through the stomach ... get that separator up quick sharp !

I did find a guy on ebay selling eggcrate at a reasonable price, two pieces plus some cable ties (all plastic type) and I had a secure barrier. Look up Ebay seller 'pond-supplies-uk'
