forgot to day the eel mustve gotten good jump (6in) to get on the floor and it was like a 5 ft fall

iv got some crayfish in one tank and the other morning i woke to it crawling across my bed right near my head next thing i knew i threw the cover in the air with the crayfish going flying hitting the wall, but thankfully it survived especially as its the biggest being about 10"

LOL, I have expeirenced this over and over..without the crawling next to my face part. Crafty little creatures they are.

how does the crawfish get out of the tank? Do they really come flying out of do they find a way to climb out? I just got one a few weeks ago, if I wake up to that thing next to my head in bed it will freak the hell out of me haha I have my bed up on a wooden frame though and I assume you guys are saying the fly out of the tank onto the bed? I dont think it would be possible to climb up onto the bed, my cat has a hard time getting way up there haha

I'm not too sure how his got onto the bed, but if you don't have a lid on your tank they can and most probably will get out. Even with a lid they can climb up a heater or powerhead and lift the lid and crawl through the crack. like i said, crafty.

its good to hear your eel is ok. they can be hardy and stubborn! has he "tried" to escape ever since?
